Cookie policy
Effective September 29, 2026. Contact: tagbackofficial@gmail.com
This policy explains which cookies TagBack sets, why, and what your options are. It sits next to our Privacy policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of data a site asks your browser to store. Every cookie TagBack sets is first-party (set by TagBack itself for this site only), sent only over HTTPS, and unreadable to JavaScript.
Cookies we set
We set exactly two cookies. Both are strictly necessary to run the service:
- session: keeps you logged in. Expires after 30 days and is deleted from our servers when you log out. Legal basis: performance of the account service you signed up for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- anon_id: a random anonymous id for visitors who scan a code without an account, so their chat thread still works when they return. Expires after 1 year. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the chat working (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
What we do not set
No analytics cookies, no tracking or advertising cookies, no cross-site cookies, and no third-party cookies of any kind. We also store nothing in your browser's local or session storage.
Why there is no consent banner
Under EU ePrivacy rules, strictly necessary cookies do not need your consent. Since that is all we use, there is nothing to accept or reject, so we show no banner.
Managing cookies
You can clear cookies in your browser settings at any time. Clearing session logs you out; clearing anon_id simply starts new chat threads on your next scan. Blocking all cookies still lets you read public pages, but logging in and chatting need their respective cookies to function.
Your rights and changes
For access, export, or deletion of your data, email tagbackofficial@gmail.com as described in our Privacy policy. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we will update this page and ask for consent first.
